I Love Sleep

Sleep and I, we have a complicated relationship. When I was teeny weeny toddler, me and sleep never had much of a connection, but now things have changed, I go through one of those clingy-attachment issues with sleep. Now I feel like mathematics, like the Y that can't stop himself from trying to find his X every single time we ever try to solve his problems.

But as much as I can relate to Y, me and sleep? Our relationship is sort of different from any others. Okay, maybe not really. Whilst sleep is so patient and tolerant with me as I go through my daily busy schedule that mostly consist of: insomnia, pulling an-all-nighter to watch K-dramas, and studying all night so I could achieve success at my "work" place. Seriously, sleep should be awarded "The Best Boyfriend Ever Award," I don't think anyone could be as best as sleep itself.

In our auspicious relationship, whenever we get some "alone time," which is mostly every night for 4-5 hours, we do our very best to utilise that precious time to go on dates, while some might not make any sense at, some are bearable. Sleep likes to take me on a date to carnivals a lot, he does know I'm not very fond of carnivals, yet he still insists I might come to love it if I get use to it. Sleep's most favorite game at the carnival is that game. What is it called again? Oh yes! Push-me-off-a-cliff. I almost suffer from heart attacks because of that game. The keyword here being 'Almost.'

Sleep wasn't the brightest when it came to taking me out on dates, it was a flaw of his that I have come to accept. Sleep wasn't flawless but at the same time, he wasn't full of flaws too. Albeit he is stupid at times (when it comes to planning out dates), he can be amazing too. He is that non-judgemental, ever-loving guy who doesn't leave you even if you're filled with tons of imperfections. Sleep never made me feel like the loneliest person, he never declared me as 'unfit' for a world of corruption and depression. During the times I've felt vulnerable, Sleep has always accepted me with open arms, pulling me into a dark abyss of peacefulness; he was always the shoulder I've cried on, the one I've leaned on in my sickness and also gone for consulation whenever I turned into a spit-fire in anger.

But despite all this, my Grandmother and maybe every other "adult" I know of, has always warned me from spending too much of my time with him, some even went far enough to put a curfew for me when I went on dates with him. Some tried to get me to keep him as a secret, as if he was some embarrassment I should deal less with; they said he is cryptic and the dates he took me on are all just some secret message for a wee bit of the future and it shouldn't be discussed, it's considered a bad omen. I didn't know that.

All these words everybody uttered into my ear, had an effect on me. They got me thinking all these thoughts I never bothered to think of. Sleep is cryptic and mysterious and maybe a wee bit strange too. He took me on dates, yet he still invites some of my friends with us. How could that be considered a date!? It was always strange when the next day came and none of my friends would even have an ounce of a memory of the day we spent with Sleep. They didn't remember his mask of drowsiness nor his body of pillows, not even his pet Laziness who accompanied Sleep wherever he went. I mean who could forget Laziness? That little bundle of joy just seems so charming and so enchanting, Laziness wasn't a pet you could forget so easily, but they did forget him though. Strange.

But eh who cares? Certainly not me. I'm set on never leaving Sleep, and as cheesy as it sounds, without him I can't function properly (literally, at least in human terms).

DARE TO DREAM BIG

It’s good to have a dream. Every dream begins with a dreamer, it’s not a crime to have dreams but giving up on your dream sure is. To fulfill your dream one must come into reality. Put a lot of dedication, hard work and determination. Always believe in yourself your dreams will surely come true. Every person has a dream and every person has the strength and passion to fulfill it, but only those fulfill it who believes in their dreams. Even if people laugh at your dreams never give up. The
key to happiness is having dreams and key to success is making your dreams come true.

Without having imagination we just loose the happiness in life. If people laugh at your dreams then it’s that you are not trying enough to achieve it. Vision without action is dream. Action without vision is just passing time. But vision with action can change the whole world.

INTRUDER AT 3 A.M.

Stephen knew he would never sleep. The noises, those horrid noises, would keep him awake all night. It was lightning and thundering loudly outside. And to top it off, someone was in his house.
He heard the sound of scratching and the rattling of metal coming from the kitchen. He was scared to his wit's end.
His parents were away for a business fair out of town and wont be coming back until tomorrow
He could hear his heartbeat and the obnoxious noises coming from the kitchen, getting louder and louder and finally he couldn't take it any more. He summoned whatever courage he had in him and got out of bed, still trembling.
He was afraid to switch on the light, in case the intruder found out he was awake. So, he blindly searched for something to attack whoever it was keeping him from peaceful sleep. He found a jug and thought it was good enough to throw the person off guard. He slowly crept down the hall and cautiously opened the kitchen door. He couldn't believe his eyes.
Not because what he saw wasn't expected. No. He couldn't believe the fact that he had been so stupid. He had left the back door open. Heavy rain and wind charged through it causing the utensils to rattle. There was a cat, dripping wet, on the counter finishing up what was left of the milk.
Ghosts? What was I thinking? Stephen thought and laughed at himself, startling the cat who obviously thought he'd gone crazy, if cats could think sarcastically that is, because hadn't he?

POEM

*Friendship as a gift*
Friendship is a gift,
That lives within the heart,
No matter how much we try,
We don’t realize how it start.

But the happiness it brings you,
Always gives you a special lift,
Then you realize the friendship,
Is on e of the God’s most precious gift.

Book Review

Title: A Brief History Of Time
Author: Stephen Hawking
Summary:
A brief history of time(1988) is a book written by the
scientist and a mathematician Stephen Hawking. This
book is about physics or the study of laws that predict
how things work in the universe. It is also about bout
how we see the universe and how the universe exists. In
this book, Hawking talks about many theories in
physics. Some of the things that he includes in them are
the history of physics, gravity, how light moves in the
universe, the space time, elementary particles, the black
hole, the big bang and time travel.
Favorite part: The most interesting thing that I found as
I was reading is that the author explains each concept so
clearly that grabs the readers attention. The most
fascinating fact is that black hole ain't black.
Recommendation: I would advise all the students
especially the physics lovers as well as adults to read
this book because the way in which it's written is just
outstanding.

Interesting Facts About English

Bullied, are we?

So let's imagine these scenarios.
  1. a girl being alone.
  2. a hyperactive kid being left out.
  3. Filler friend. (“Filler friend” exclusively coined by me considering how often I’ve felt it in my life, but a brief synopsis of being the “filler friend” is pretty much being there only when someone is bored. Don’t get me twisted of course friends want to hang out when they’re bored, that’s a natural thing. This doesn’t sound awesome, but sadly so many have come to view that as the only means of friendship.)

We have heard a lot about bullying and its types. (Physical bullying, Emotional bullying, Verbal bullying, and cyberbullying.)
Today let's take a look at yet another dangerous form of bullying which usually goes unnoticed.

Social Exclusion- Bullying at its Worst.
Social exclusion is “a multidimensional process of progressive social rupture, detaching groups and individuals from social relations and institutions and preventing them from full participation in the normal, normatively prescribed activities of the society in which they live”.  It refers to not being included within a given social network (but not necessarily ignored).

I would love to hear your thoughts on this,
